If you are an athiest then no, I would think it is one big cycle of life, with each generation of creatures supporting the life of the next. Only a guess as I am not an athiest.

I wasn't aware of this but thinking about it this is not such a big surprise, given such books as Small gods, Reaper Man and Mort. There is a bizarre amount of sense in his books and he has an amazing ability to 'see' human foibles.

I don't know as I am (tricky things labels; well for me at least) but all gardeners, theists included, need compost for their roses.

He did, but is it true?

Alternatively:

There is a physical-psycho-socio-linguistic process called "I", therefore I think.

Not as snappy as Descartes, I agree!

Very true, I just learned that I am destined to be compost for someone's roses (good job I don't believe it or I may be upset).

Sorry snoopy I wasn't using 'you' as in you personally. Perhaps I should have said if a person is an athiest.

Absolutely not, I wouldn't dare, just a huge generalisation, honest - for which I apologise. It does show you what a minefield conversation can be without facial expression and tone of voice. I wonder how blind people cope?

Why do I believe in G-d?

While I've wandered in my belief systems and understandings, they've all been G-d based. I've got friends and associates that are atheists...but I can't actually understand how.

I really don't see how there is a choice.
