If I could combine my favorite traits of Nader, Kucinich and Ron Paul, they'd beat my favorite traits of Obama, Hillary and McCain hands down. But that's just me. |

As far as third party candidates are concerned, I don't see Nader making much of a dent this time. He may pick up one or two percent in the general election (unless Paul goes indie), but I don't see him being a significant factor this time unless the super D's tilt toward Hillary even with Obama ahead in the delegate count and there is no other more viable third party candidate. I'll be interested to see if there is a do-over of the Michigan and Florida primaries. That could make a significant difference if Hillary really regains a lot of momentum through the Pennsylvania primary seven weeks from now, and it's the only outside chance I see for her to win the delegate count by convention time. I'm seeing a lot of really superficial rhetoric and hand wringing on the part of the progressive base which I think is entirely unwarranted. It's actually comical to watch people who hate politics as usual sweat when conventional wisdom flies out the window. Chris |

I'll be voting Obama if he is the nominee, and I'll be voting for Clinton if she becomes the nominee. There are only a few 'big' differences between the two, so I'm pretty sure I'd be happy with either one. I like McCain, but he's a bit ill tempered, and too "Gung Ho" to continue the war. He wishes to stay in Iraq for 100 years, or more. Besides, I like both Clinton, and Obama, and it will be a sweet day indeed to elect a minority as president of the United Sates - They give me hope, and I think either will inspire, and lead the way to a better America. This sure to be an exciting year - Clinton has just begun to fight - now we shall see what Obama is made of. He'll need the experience if he's going to take on McCain. ![]() James |

Re: Who do you like?
The plot thickens again!
Obama wins Texas?? The Texas two step, first a primary, then a caucus. Caucuses favor Obama, you gotta hang out and state your case, face to face, for sometimes hours. So the young and boisterous get a little bigger edge. Add that to the theory that a large percentage of Republicans showed up to the primary to vote for Hillary then left...looks like Obama wins the caucus by a large margin, large enough to exceeed Hillary's primary delegates, only 40% in, 2 months to finish counting, but looks like Obama may be 3 delegates ahead in Texas. Interesting timing, it'll keep everything going back and forth right up to the Pennsylvania primary. |

Re: Who do you like?
I understand that Hillary netted about fifteen delegates from her good showing on Tuesday. That still leaves her a hundred or so behind Obama. The "wins" get her free face time on the networks and makes her a bigger character in the media's narrative. It's good for buzz, and buzz translates into momentum on tee vee.

Re: Who do you like?
The honeymoon is over. The mainstream press has finally decided to jump into the shady real estate deals of Obama and his 'contributor'. And the folks are now wondering how he's been sitting listening to his preacher for 20 years and never heard him say anything that was questionable.
Hillary's camp still claiming a win in Texas, wants to get Michigan in as is without any Obama votes, tis a sticky wicket. Rumors amidst that at the convention the powers that be will bestow knighthood on Al Gore and end the whole dispute... Meanwhile McCain looks for a cardiac specialist as a running mate... |

Re: Who do you like?
How far out is Pennsylvania? I've forgotten. Politics time is different. Anyway...I'm watching the down-time horse race play out on the blogs and in the media cycle. I'm so fascinated by the media's narrative creation process. How they try to lead by being a half step behind. I think that the narrative is about to change. If they don't find Obama's mistress within the next couple of weeks leading up to these late primary contests the press will be done with Hillary. Super delegates or no. Thus far she has been adrift in the sheltered harbor of the really big talking head's graces, but that's already started to turn.

If it were a horse race we are now seeing Obama tiring in the stretch and Hillary coming up strong to take the lead. Even if she loses by a nose she will claim victory. And most likely get the judges to disqualify Obama. He'll take the backdoor deal to bow out gracefully keep the race riots to a minimum and utilize the VP spot to prepare him for his next run...'16 |
