Which history would you visit?

Here's a question – which periods of history would you most like to visit?

For my own part I would have love to experience something of the Roman Empire under the Julian-Claudian line – very possibly Gaius Caligula, just to see how much of his image is based on satirical reports.

But the 4th century Roman world also has it's calling – it would be fascinating to follow Constantine more closely and see the reality of the process of doctrine formation and canonisation – not least have a seat at the first Council of Nicaea, just to see how heated thngs were.

Of course, it would also be intriguing to visit Galilee around 30 AD just to see the reality of the situation there, and see the objective reality in detail.

Aside from those – perhaps seem something of life in Ancient Egyptian – but definitely no later than Third Dynasty – perhaps Akhenaten or Ramases II. It would also be absolutely fascinating to visit Babylon in it's hey-day and see that fabled city in detail – else the earlier standing ziggurats of the first lasting dawn of civilisation in ancient Sumer.

There are other periods of interest as well, but that would make for a good start.

Now, over to anyone else, if you will...

I can't define a specific period but there are many events at which I would love to have been a fly on the wall!

First American Constitutional Convention (I can't imagine, maybe because I have never been in politics, how so many people can get together and end up with one document.)
Any and all peace talks, ending major conflicts (I would like to see what they actually wanted from each other and what they ended up asking for - plus how they went about it all)
A lecture/speech/conversation with Aristotle, Plato, Freud, Abraham Lincoln, Henry VIII, Thomas Jefferson and so on...

I would like to have seen all of the life of Jesus first hand to see the truth of the event in every detail. Then I would know everything for sure.

The Dark Ages - Life of Jeanne D' Arc and... ah, that's probably it.

Well, the future... if things continue like this,
it'll be pollutated world with such worthless techinique and
machines and stuff, i would like to see the world turn into
a wonderful nature and wildlife continents; as well as number of Wicca increasing and Mythology worshipping too.

All of these are good, but I think I would include the lifetimes of Lao Tzu, Kung Fu Tze, and Buddha. Possibly even Mohammed, just to get the genuine scoop on what he was really all about. I am not sure who to credit with the first Vedas, but that would be interesting as well.

But my first pick would have to be the Garden of Eden, pre-fall.

Would love to see the real truth behind ancient Egypt, that must have been a fascinating society to observe. No particular dynasty, just to observe....oh, at one of the Pharoah's internments would have been a spectacle to behold
Camelot (if it ever existed)...forget the invisible bit there, I have always wanted to meet Merlin.
Mmm oooh, there's so many periods of history that I would like to have been a fly on the wall to see the real story and not what the historians have told us, which must be well censored to suit the period of time in which it is written.
Can we add who we would have also liked to have met during this fantasy?
Merlin (obviously); Cleopatra (was she as beautiful as the scribes portray her), equally Julius Caesar who must have been an awe inspiring man; Charles II, William Wallace, Shakespeare (do not fancy the period in history much, but the man deserves attention)....probably many more

Well I guess I'm the odd one out here. I'd like to visit the Devonian Era where primitive reptiles ruled the earth. The animals couldn't run too fast, so I'd stand some chance, and it would be great to see the swamps and many active volcanoes. Simple and raw survival before man started complicating things.

Either that or the times of the Buddha (500BC) and also when the Mahasiddhas were prominent in India. About 900AD.

For me it used to be also the age of the Dinosaurs that attracted me very much, later it was the time of Jesus but now I would very much like to visit the time when Shiva (circa 7000 years ago) was around or otherwise when Krishna was on the earth (circa 3500 years ago).

I guess I would like to visit any time in history where there were many great changes taking place within the minds of people for the better, or when people were becoming more "enlightened" or aware of who they really are. These would be so intersting to me because I would probably be having the same experiences as well and be learning the process that allows people to open up to themselves and each other.

Well, there are so many stories about Atlandida and I don't know what to think about it any more. I would be nice to go back in time and see what really happended out there.
