Hear, hear! I'm a huge Steely Dan fan.

I've been obsessing on The Refreshments.

Nice dynamics, slightly odd (contrived scenes) video.

Re: What music are you listening to?

Nightwish has such beautiful music, but after a time their lyrics just started to get really dark. Tuomas is a brilliant songwriter but wow, such hurt and sorrow comes through in his lyrics.

Re: What music are you listening to?

I find that a lot of artists, musicians, and poets with stunningly beautiful art are pretty tortured emotionally. It seems to drive art in a big way. I love the older stuff with the lady that sounds a bit operatic. I don't know a ton about them, but a friend just turned me on to them. The newer stuff is nice, but sounds a bit more like Evanescence. Which is not a bad thing, as I like them too. But the older stuff sounds a bit more distinctive to me.

Re: What music are you listening to?

Some of the Turkish folk idioms are very pure - as in very painful. I don't know how someone like Sibel can stand there and sing this without falling apart with overwhelming tears.
