Re: What Movies Have You Seen Recently?
Forbidden Kingdom:.... Awesome, Jet Li AND! AND! Jackie Chan. Basically aboot the monkey king (I love monkey.) Worth a watch, it is pretty cool. Predictable, but cooo.
Bucket List:... Not bad
Dan in real life: Very funny, Ironic, close quarters and awarkward. I relate to Dan in many ways..
Street Kings: Not normally my kind of movie... Not a fan of Keanu Reeves.... But, this was a very good film and I enjoyed it from start to finish.
Not sure if I mentioned it, Chronicles of Spiderwick: Get it, watch it, love it... Do it now.
Over her dead body: Funny, great film!!!

Re: What Movies Have You Seen Recently?
I watched one the other night called "Mother Night." It was written by Kurt Vonnegut and featured Nick Nolte, Alan Arkin, John Goodman and several others. It was rather confusing to a certain extent concerning post-war Nazis and some that I didn't know for sure if they were Nazis or not. I guess I'll have to see it again.

Re: What Movies Have You Seen Recently?
Conqueror of Shambala, an anime movie from Full Metal Alchemist. It is a "What if...?" taking place in the time just before the rise of Nazi Germany (our universe/plane of reality.)
I dislike the subtitles due to too many spelling/grammar mistakes (too disconcerting/jolting) but my Japanese is too weak to watch it without them.

Re: What Movies Have You Seen Recently?
Oh the joys of cross-cultural enlightenment...
My lovely wife came home the other day with a series, the best I can describe is a soap-opera or mini-series, set I am guessing about 200-300 years ago. My wife tells me it is in Korea, so naturally the actors are speaking Korean. My wife does not speak Korean, so we fiddled with the controls until we got the Chinese subtitles, which made my wife very happy. Last I checked she made it through about 7 of the 12 or so dvd disks, I managed about 1 1/2 of them.
Quite a learning experience for me; a soap opera (I don't do soaps) in Korean (I don't understand Korean) with Chinese subtitles (I don't read Chinese). Beautiful actors, great period costumes, lovely scenery...and I am clueless as to the finer details of story and plot.
I can't even tell anyone the name...

27 Dresses, Bucket List, Definitely Maybe, Baby Mama
Though none of them was bad, the only one I'd want to see again would be "Bucket List".

Finally finished night before last, 54 episodes (of about an hour each). Story as near as I can tell: girl meets boy, girl and boy flirt, girl obligated to duty and honor before boy, boy obligated to duty and honor before girl...fast forward to next to last episode: boy crosses prince, prince exiles boy, prince gets sick, girl tries to nurse prince even though she knows prince executed boy (because prince has his eye on girl). Now, the plot thickens...prince has girl kidnapped and carried away, town sees girl disappeared and abandoned prince on his deathbed; prince dies...however, girl is released and goes into exile only to find boy...forward 8 years, they have a daughter, and are escorted back to village where they are reinstated in their places, and the world is in harmony once again...
Yay.
And I still can't tell you what the name of the program is.

Re: What Movies Have You Seen Recently?
Was gonna watch Hancock last night, but the quality of the film wasn't too great, got a dvd version of it now... So I'll be checking it out tonight, from what I've seen so far... I think this is a winner.

Re: What Movies Have You Seen Recently?
Ok haven't got around to watching hancock.... Watch a film called 'Bug' It is a "thriller" they say it is quite disturbing in my opinion, worth a watch though I can't really say much withouth messing it up.... Basically to keep no detail whatsoever it is about a woman that lives in a motel and a man comes to stay with here, and then the bugs come..... (Note this isn't like a horror movie! Oh here come teh bugz zomgz!) there is a plot to it.
Drillbit taylor(Budget bodyguard) It on the cards fror tonight... And this looks funnny as!

Re: What Movies Have You Seen Recently?
Batman, dark knight....
Didn't like it. :/ The main bits that bothered me....
No one plays the joker like Mr Jack Nicholson.... Period.
But trying to be big and strong and looking past this major issue lol.... What happened to the story? It lacked continual play... Batman didn't know the joker... Yet the joker is the man that shot his parents...... And they have a "relationship" Yet there was none.... The joker was chucked away in a prison for the "criminally insane" Yet here he is, no explination and he is out causing chaos...
The joker was an ex mafia member of some rank... (in this one he is an unknown shadow of sorts)He got back stabbed and shot into a barrel of waste/acid/something it melted his face.... In this one the only reason for the make up is to hide a chelsea smile... I didn't get it....
I am not a fan of the james bond movies, and I see batman becoming the american james bond, which his tech side kick Mr Fox... And all his gadgets and such in the gadget room... Very james bond specially the way he tinkers with the gadgets and has accidents.....
5 out of 10.... I am being generous...
---edit---
Just seen my last post... Watched Hancock... Good film, funny, interesting and yeah entertaining 8 out of 10
