The opening of the seal

“But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge."
-Daniel 12:4 [new international version]

“I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, "My lord, what will the outcome of all this be? He replied, ‘Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end.’”
-Daniel 12:8-9 [new international version]

“And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of the book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is learned, saying, read this I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot for it is sealed.”
-Isaiah 29:11-12

“For you this whole vision is nothing but words sealed in a scroll. And if you give the scroll to someone who can read, and say to him, "Read this, please," he will answer, "I can't; it is sealed. Or if you give the scroll to someone who cannot read, and say, "Read this, please," he will answer, "I don't know how to read.""
-Isaiah 29:11-12 [new international version]

These seals would not be opened by Christ in His first coming, but only in His second.

Why is that? Here is scripture from the leaders of the early Christians.

“Therefore Judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, which will bring to light the hidden things of darkness. . .”
-1 Corinthians 4:5

“And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”
-2 Peter 1:19-21

In other words, don’t interrupt prophecies before his return!

“Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. And they sang a new song:
"You are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased men for God
from every tribe and language and people and nation.”
-Revelation 5:6,9

“The nations will see your righteousness,
and all kings your glory;
you will be called by a new name
that the mouth of the LORD will bestow.”
-Isaiah 62:2

“You will leave your name
to my chosen ones as a curse;
the Sovereign LORD will put you to death,
but to his servants he will give another name.”
-Isaiah 65:15

This is interesting. I got the notes from William Sear.

Books on prophecy

Yes Bill Sears will always have a special place in the hearts of Baha'is... "Thief in the Night: The case of the missing millenium" is still widely appreciated.

Also along the lines of prophecy these books by Michael Sours are also appreciated...

Re: The opening of the seal

true knowledge is now abundant indeed Daniel 12;4 and the light is getting brighter and brighter
(Psalm 97:11) Light itself has flashed up for the righteous one, And rejoicing even for the ones upright in heart.
(Daniel 12:9) And he went on to say: "Go, Daniel, because the words are made secret and sealed up until the time of [the] end...................... we are now in the time of the end and the words are unsealed. true knowledge is now abundant. thrilling times indeed

Fortunately, in the Baha'i view the Revelation of the Book of Certitude ranks as the unsealing spoken of in Daniel!

Best, :-)

The Book of Certitude is my favorite book! It explains so many symbols and metaphors, meanings that were sealed up.

"In fact, all the Scriptures and the mysteries thereof are condensed into this brief account." -Baha'u'llah

_____

What the title of the thread reminded me of was the seven seals and the three woes in the book of Revelation. The three woes (and last three trumpet-blasts) are, I believe, the revelations of Muhammad, the Bab, and Baha'u'llah.

I've read a really good book that I think was called Thy Kingdom Come! I think it was by someone from south-east Asia... the name looked Vietnamese to me. It was about Biblical prophecy, especially the book of Revelation... have you heard of it? I mean Thy Kingdom Come, not the book of Revelation.

Re: The opening of the seal

I'm not familiar with that one, but I was the indexer for two of Robert Riggs' books: The Apocalypse (and its earlier version Apocalypse Unsealed) and I, Daniel!

The former is a very detailed, verse-by-verse interpretation/explanation of the Book of Revelation, while the latter explains the prophecies in--well, you know...

I have them both available online and will be happy to email them (they're in the public domain and available for free) to anyone who'd like to see them! :-) Just ask me.

(BTW, are we to call you Dah-veeth or Abjeya?)

Cheers! :-)

Is there a web site where those books can be read? My computer is slow... very slow sometimes... and sometimes it just stops working and I have to use something called "software repair wizard."

You can call me either Dah-veeth or Abeja... Abeja means bee and is pronounced Ah-bey-ha. I get the Maya from a Mexican story about a bee named Maya... Abeja Maya.

Re: The opening of the seal

Hi! :-)

There really isn't a web site for these yet! That's in the pipeline, but it's not going to happen immediately (because there are so many titles all of which deserve to be made more widely available). Someday, yes (we think).

That's why in the meantime I'm offering to email the text to anyone who'd like to read these!

(And please note that once you have the text itself, the speed of your computer isn't an issue for reading it even if you choose not to print the books themselves <which total roughly 400 pages for the two>.)

Best regards, :-)
