the mountains passed away

What happened to the Ottoman Empire, the Russian Empire, the French Empire? When they were there, they were so powerful and everyone thought they'd be there forever... as solid as the mountains... but then Baha'u'llah wrote to the emperors, they rejected His advice, and the mountains passed away.

Re: the mountains passed away

One of the monarchs was polite in reply, and that was Queen Victoria. A descendent of Queen Victorie, Queen Marie of Romania, later became a Baha'i.

"The system of government which the British people have adopted in London appeareth to be good, for it is adorned with the light of both kingship and of the consultation of the people." -Baha'u'llah
