Re: The Christian Trinity

cult is a bad choice of words. it causes pain to others & starts war.
i do not subscribe to the JW doctrine, neither do I subscribe to the trinity doctrine. i do not see either of them as a cult.
they are doctrines/beliefs that people choose to adhere to.

as a bible believer, i see God as ONE spirit, because i choose to, the same way the Jews see it. does that make me and the Jews in a cult?

something to think about.

Good points, Bandit. I second that.

Re: The Christian Trinity

Hello, and Peace to All Here--

I have been watching from "afar"--not just this thread, but as we all know, almost every active thread on the Christianity board. I know I am not the only one who has been reading and not posting. After a while, one's heart does get a bit heavy over it all--at least mine does. Been thinking while I prepared dinner and made myself ready for the day full of tomorrow. I decided to say something--I hope it is something worthwhile.

First of all, I'd like to say to Mee, "Mission accomplished--or at least seed planted." I promise you that I will read the publications you post from in their entirety (I have already read the Bible, but I promise to have it out in several translations along with the other books that you promote.)

However, I would also like to point out that if I, or anyone else dogmatically posted from other things (say, for instance, the Baptist Faith and Message, or the Book of Morman) the way you have from the Watchtower, etc., we might have been kicked out of here long ago. (Those may not be the best examples, but does anyone see my point?)

I don't think any reasonable person here wants to exclude the viewpoint of the Jehovah's Witnesses. It is just that the forum has certain rules. And for a reason.

And, with all my heart, I truly do mean this InLove.

For what it is worth--

InPeace,
InLove

InLove says it well... More diplomatically than I would.

The opposition is not to your faith Mee. The opposition is to your preaching, just as you have made clear as noted above.

Code of Conduct (COC) for comparative-religion.com (CR)

GENERAL INTRODUCTION

This is an interfaith forum, intended to allow people to discuss and learn about different religions and spiritual paths from a very diverse membership.

Although there is room for critical opinions, general tolerance and mutual respect of some degree is required, and especially the acceptance that other people can hold differing views.

We have nothing against people sharing their faith with other members, but CR does not tolerate the presence of members whose sole purpose is to preach at others of different or the same faith.

Neither does CR tolerate the presence of self-appointed modern-day prophets, nor anyone else aggressively seeking to promote their own agendas here.

That said, I am temporarily locking this thread until the administration of CR decides how to proceed further.
