Talking about modern Muslim thinkers

Hello.

Below I've listed five important modern Muslim thinkers/reformers that aren't that well known outside Muslim or academic circles. It would be interesting & informative to see a discussion of these figures regarding who they were, how they relate/compare to one another, what impact they had on history, and how each is regarded today among Muslims.

These are the five:

Muhammad ibn Abd al Wahhab
Syed Abul Ala Maududi
Allama Muhammad Iqbal
Sayyid Muhammad Taleqani
Sayyid Qutb

Note: there is no hidden agenda here, no theory or argument waiting in the wings.

Sincerely,
Devadatta
