Are you writing rules for what people should say, or for what people should hear? Both. The tongue reveals, and the ear informs. Why would you want to censor someone and make your own ears ignorant?
I wish to hear lies, I wish to hear the things that are unhelpful, I wish to hear the things that are uninspirational, I wish to hear the things that are unnecessary, and I wish to hear the things that are unkind. I expect to hear those things.
Why? Begin with the first. Ask a liar if they've told the truth and what do you expect to hear? You must hear the lie to catch the lie. If you wish to pre-emptively rebuke a liar then carry on. That is all you've done. Same for all the rest. You have merely pre-emptively rebuked hearing things that you don't like to hear, and I'm fully opposed to that. If someone feels the need to say it, then I wish to hear it. With my own children if I am opposed to what they've said, then I'll wait for them to say it before rebuking them. The rebuke or praise will not be for saying something, but for what caused them to say it. I wish to hear anything and everything that my children or neighbors wish to come to me with, whether I like it or not.
