I understand what you are saying brother but I think what Arif was suggesting is that someone must encounter these people. There have been many reports from London about ‘mosques of hate’, so some decent people must go the mosque hear the diatribe and leave but do they report it to anyone? Is Arif not asking how these mosques have managed to be maintained for so long, without Muslims objecting to them or speaking out against them?

The difficulty here Zaakir is that a bomb blast will always drown out our voices, no matter how many voices there are. The media have nothing to gain by showing Islam’s true teachings but the sensationalism of a few wicked men sells stories and the west can’t get enough of them.


I do personally feel that we are beginning to turn a corner on this issue and I believe Sep 11th was the catalyst. Look up the responses to that horrific incident, Sheikhs in the most unlikely places came out to condemn the action. Certainly I have noticed in Egypt a stronger line being taken against radical preaching (largely because of the bombs in the Sinai). Insh’allah, this is where terrorism will beat itself to death, it has started to attack the very people it claims to speak for, that is not to say these crimes are any worse than crimes against non Muslims. Yes I agree, all Muslims must stand up and say “enough, this is not Islam”. Since Sep 11th the world spotlight has been on Islam and we can see certain people squirming in their seats, the media must maintain the spotlight in order to force these people to be recognized and beaten but I do wish they would show that terrorism does not = Islam.
