Simurgh

I've been able to find only a little information on the mythical creature Simurgh:

Simurgh
Simurgh - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Phoenix Flight

I am wondering if anyone has some more knowledge of this besides what can be found readily on the web. Anyone know some books about this or other Persian legends?

Thanks,
P.

Thanks, Seattlegal. I also recently came across a book entitled The Conference of the Birds written by one Farid-Un Attar in the 12th century.
