Don't take it personally Q, you chose protection, you chose Coast Guard. You are defense. Pre-emptive strike (funny last night we watched Antz and the Ant General got the support of the colony to perform a preemptive strike against the termites, the termites that had no intention of attacking the Antz!! cartoon made in 1998, must've been GWII's formative years)

Preemptive strike against a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 all the while still in bed with the Saudi's who glady make billions at >100 a barrel oil.

The early followers of Jesus Christ were zealous in spreading the Christian faith.

Writing in about 60 C.E. the Christian apostle Paul noted that already the "good news" had been "preached in all creation that is under heaven." (Col. 1:23) Christians by then had spread throughout many nations.

What did these Christians do when ‘nation rose against nation and kingdom against kingdom’ in war? (Matt. 24:7)
Did they join the armies of their particular nation and fight?
Did they kill fellow Christians living in other countries?

How did early Christians view Jesus’ instruction to "love one another," and to be "peaceable"? (John 13:34; Matt. 5:9)

Regarding this, Hastings’ renowned Encyclopædia of Religion and Ethics notes:
"The view was widely prevalent in the early Church that war is an organized iniquity with which the Church and the followers of Christ can have nothing to do.

So early Christians did honor Jesus teachings, they actually lived by them.

And they did not seek "loopholes," arguing that Christ did not specifically forbid being a soldier.

The German Protestant theologian Peter Meinhold wrote:
"While the New Testament is silent on the question whether Christians may or may not be soldiers and whether they must resign from the army when they become Christians, the old church took a stand in the issue.

Being a Christian and a soldier was considered irreconcilable.

So what was it that led early Christians away from fighting and killing? It was their religion, which was based firmly on the teachings of God’s Word the Bible!

thats how it is with JEHOVAHS WITNESSES as well.

For mee i have found the true christians , and it is JEHOVAHS WITNESSES

They imitate the example of the early Christians. Their religion is based firmly on God’s Word the Bible, and it is indeed leading them to peace and morality.

Saudis...you are right. Antz is a cartoon. My sons are Army (medic and ranger). They saved lives, and cried when lives were lost. MW thinks she cornered the market on pain and loss, because she is Muslim? She thinks America is the whore monger? Horse's ass.

What she FORGETS is that she is British, and the Brits started this crap a century ago (as well as the french). They should have left well enough alone. Then we wouldn't have to clean up the mess...

BS Q and you know it. The blame game is a joke, saying we blame the Brits for us believing lies and going into Iraq under false pretenses is rediculous.

Yes we'll use religion and any other excuse we can to go to war.

Namaste Q,

It is so lovely that you know what I believe and what I don't. How have I lived this long without you.

Don't know wil. Miracles happen every day. You go side with MW, and anyone else that lines up and screams "badger" when there is none. As for me and mine, we will continue to back your rights to do so, up.

Q... some of us believe in our God, but not in countries...

We are each of us what we are. I owe allegiance only to God, and all humanity is my nation.

Pacifism doesn't make someone godless...

Path,

I wonder if you believe that God will judges nations...as well as individuals...as the bible implies.

"When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left." - Matthew 25:31-33

Boy, it sure would suck to be in one of the nations on the left.

I'd be really curious how it'd be possible. Are the immigrants here in their original nation or this one? What about nations in civil war that aren't one nation? And on and on...

My guess is that this language is somehow not capturing the original meaning. Or it was responsive to a particular time when nations were more clear-cut.

At any rate, it makes no sense. "Our" nation encompasses everyone from Charles Manson to MLK. So are we judged as a group for our MLKs or for our Mansons?

the sheep would have been listening to Jesus voice luke 9;35 they are willing to have been led by Jesus and to have been doing what Jesus asked matthew 28;19-20

the goats are rebellious

in the final judgement individuals from all nations will be judged as to if they are sheep or goats

I think Dondi is pointing out that the scripture, at least in that translation, reads as though entire nations will be judged as a group, rather than individuals.

he will seperate the people

That is how it will be in the conclusion of the system of things: the angels will go out and separate the wicked from among the righteous

matthew 13;49

For we must all be made manifest before the judgment seat of the Christ, that each one may get his award for the things done through the body, according to the things he has practiced, whether it is good or vile.

2 corinthians 5;10
