John was the last gospel written, perhaps in 100-110ad. This 70-80 years after Christ died. Surely Jesus was sent by God, he was holy beyond measure and I don't dispute that but I find discrepancies in the Bible that can't be overlloked. To me my belief in Jesus and God are not dependent on the accuracy of the Bible.

I agree. But how can you have accuracy with 100's of different Translations around with some religions using the Talmud, Koran or other books to "interpret" what God was saying in the OT?.

My own belief isn't dependant on whether Noah, Abraham, Isaac or Moses ever walked the earth, but what they were symbolizing to mankind.

And about setting dates of when each book was written in the Bible, I feel that is also a mistake, as the whole book is harmonized from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation, and that is a lot more important, in my humble opinion, than trying to determine dates.

With "66" books to look at, it should be relatively easy to "weed out" discepencies, if one is really looking for them in the first place. The smaller NT epistles [outside of Acts and the gospels] could actually be harmonized into one book itself, just as the 4 gospels were harmonized a 100 yrs ago. [this is also an excellent way to read the Bible and the NIV has a chronological Bible out that I find helpfull]I would love to accurately Translate the NT using this.

The book of revelation is the only book in the NT that shows a new "heaven and earth", so I suppose it depends on what one's view is of the new heavens and earth described in Isaiah 65/66. Peace and Love to all.
