Re: Ouiji Boards?
cant think of any thing better to be linked with. All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work. 2 timothy 3;16-17 |

but I do sometimes wonder - friend, what does it hide? To each his own. The Bhagavad Gita is GOD'S WORD ... (no ifs, ands or buts) ... and OUIJA BOARDS will get you to Christ just as well as the BIBLE, if that's Whom and what you seek. DEAL WITH IT |

The first book of the Bible tells us how mankind’s problems began. The last book shows that the whole earth will become a paradise, or garden. All the material in the Bible covers thousands of years of history and relates in some way to the unfolding of God’s purpose. The harmony of the Bible is impressive, but that is what we would expect of a book from God. ![]() |

“You must not learn to do according to the detestable things of those nations. There should not be found in you . . . anyone who employs divination, a practicer of magic or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional foreteller of events or anyone who inquires of the dead. For everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah.”—Deut. 18:9-12; Lev. 19:31; 20:6, 27. what does the Bible advise? Listen to what the LORD is teaching you! Don’t listen to mediums—what they tell you will do you no good.’”—Isa. 8:19, 20, Today’s English Version. so the following verse is more like the right way to get to know christ This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ. John 17;3 and yes you have guessed it, its all in the bible ![]() |

Re: Ouiji Boards?
Mee, I think you need to watch the Penn & Teller video on the absurdity of Biblical Literalism. Then I'd like to hear your careful, intelligent refutation of the dozens of points they make.
At any rate, I'll go with the simple "test the spirits" in arguing my point. The Bible does say that, but then - I'm just trying to show you how your own, Sacred Scripture can actually be used in getting some good advice about how to proceed in using a ouija board ... or in deciding whether or not to do so. It's okay if you'd rather not think about it. We can listen to Bible quotes all day long ... ![]() |

By that logic, the vast majority of the things we take for granted today like modern medicine, computers, the internet, etc. are wrong. After all, they aren't in the Bible. And which Bible is supposed to be the authoritative one? There are so many to choose from. And why again should non-Christians believe in the Christian Bible in the first place? Why shouldn't we be picking some other religion's holy scripture and telling everyone that they must follow that one? With regard to things like the Ouija, different religions have different attitudes towards it. Even within a specific religion it's not always a simple thing. People will need to think it through and decide what makes sense to them in their own religious system and based on their own rationalizations. But to expect everyone to follow one specific religion's rules just because it says so in that religion's holy texts is not going to get us very far as a multifaith multicultural world. |

Re: Ouiji Boards?
It's spelled Ouija -- oui is French for "yes", and ja is German for "yes." It's the "yes-yes" board. (Yup, it is a weird name but that is what the inventors decided to call it.)
That's pretty talented to come through a ouija board like that, even if they misspelled your name. |

Indeed, quite a number of those who practiced magical arts brought their books together and burned them up before everybody. And they calculated together the prices of them and found them worth fifty thousand pieces of silver. Thus in a mighty way the word of Jehovah kept growing and prevailing.Acts 19;19 I am not saying that i have litrally burned any books but realizing that they are worthless and not really any use at all is the thing i have come to realize. yes reading books is good but taking them to heart is not good because only the bible is really good. And as ecclesiastes 12;12-14 says ,As regards anything besides these, my son, take a warning: To the making of many books there is no end, and much devotion [to them] is wearisome to the flesh. The conclusion of the matter, everything having been heard, is: Fear the [true] God and keep his commandments. For this is the whole [obligation] of man. For the [true] God himself will bring every sort of work into the judgment in relation to every hidden thing, as to whether it is good or bad. |
