If you move your eyes to the next figure then the corner of your eye might ust catch the optical motion of the figure(s) next to the one you shifted your eyes to. If you hold your eyes still then the illusion won't work. You have to constantly move your eyes from one figure to the next. The colors and compact space within the figure gives it the optical illusion when ever your eyes move. Also on Brian's post, its the fact that all those figures are clustered together in one space end to end that gives it the illusion whenever you shift your eyes.

Try again, did it work this time?

If your still having trouble try moving your eyes a little slower or more fast from figure to figure. Don't focus on one object too long. Keep your eyes panned out on the whole thing still move them. If you catch it in time you will begin to see what looks like the wheels turning or changing size.

Now try again. Did it work?

DON'T cross your eyes!!!!

Good link Brian. And I liked all of the different illusions on your link, abrahamx, welcome to CR.
