Omnipotence

Wouldn't omnipotence preclude the very existence of evil?

Is anyone here studying (or re-studying) religious texts from an assumption of omnipotence?

Or...

Has anyone here come across the idea that if what man calls "evil" isn't evil then it must be something else? And what that "something else" might be?
