Hi Pathless. You're definitely crotchety and angry enough to qualify as a old fart, even if you do not qualify in a chronological sense. But to be sure Snoopy and I would have to evaluate your efforts at the "farting post". Of course that means more passive royalty income for Snoopy, but I don't begrudge him his more industrious traits.

I do not try to purposefully judge whether or not anyone here lies. Life is too short to do that. Veracity is always determined through outcomes. So far it seems that you always speak/write from your heart, and that's what humans are supposed to do. That is truth in my book.

BTW, your avatar looks just like my dear departed Fred in one of his more crotchety and angry moments. Tugs at my heart strings it does.

I suppose you know that Sarasvati is the consort of Brahma...? I have a sutra dedicated to Sarasvati, which was in a text called -survarnabhasottamasutra, or ultimate golden speech text, and in the text, Sarasvati says she will deliver eloquence to any monk who chants the survana-bhasa, which means "golden speech"... I will look through my notes and see if I can find the ISBN- which I collect (how sad is that..!) although if my memory serves me correctly my version was OOP...

if u google "survanabhasa" you might get some links..?

I did a search for "survanabhasa," but couldn't find anything.

My favorite story about Saraswati is when she gets mad at Brahma, and ends up cursing the other goddesses for not leaving with her.

That said, the agnostic forums is extremely nice compared to a place like IIDB. I've never seen more annoyingly nitpicking debaters in all of my life. Its actually only a few people on IIDB that are annoying, but it was too much for my taste.

Most of the people on the agnostic forum are nice, but too many of them see logical argument as the be all and end all. So, when there, I end up mostly only showing my intellectual side leaving my spiritual side unsatisfied.

The thing is that with any forum you can usually find some nice people. I did meet a couple of people that were nice at IIDB, but the problem was that the nice people generally didn't stand up to the annoying people because everything is considered fair by forum rules as long as its not a direct ad hom. I'm sure you could learn to enjoy a place like that. Its a large very active forum and so it shouldn't be too difficult to avoid the people you dislike. My problem was that some of the discussions I liked also attracted some of the people whose style of discussin I disliked.

There is another reason why I consider the place not nice. The same people whose style bothers me also bothered some of the people I liked. Two authors I like Acharya S and Earl Doherty were posting there, but both of them probably won't anymore. Doherty put up with it for a long time, and finally declared he wouldn't post anymore because of those people.
