Re: ladies- make ur own!
Disgusting creatures... :/ That is like using toilet paper over and over again, or condoms or something that shouldn't be used over and over... TEEA BAGS! As Mr Garrison says; "never trust something that bleeds for that many days and doesn't die."

Re: ladies- make ur own!
Why would it be yukky? Women have managed for centuries before disposables came along and of course there is the issue of the environment. Surely it is much more yukky to be swimming in the sea and a used tampax floats past. It is like nappies (diapers) people just chuck them in the rubbish and forget about them, it is much better for the environment if we get off our lazy bums and wash re-usable nappies. Really people have become so embarrassed about natural bodily functions - pass wind anyone?

Re: ladies- make ur own!
lol, the cups... to collect the issue...lol... so many of the green brigade see them as a viable alternative to, erm, other things... even funnier that Dauer mentions them, though... lol... moon-cups, I've seen them branded as...
imagine making ur own though, in say, a fetching plaid, and it slipped out ur pants at a dinner party...lol... and then I thought... aww... you would have to be really hard up to do it, unless u were an eco-warrior... as for reusing condoms... they did, initially... initially, after ppl had caught the pox, etc, they realised a barrier might be effective, and so experimented with many things- sheep bladders, wool, silk, linen, etc, and eventually, they dicovered rubber! they were really thick things, like inner tubes on ur bike, and covered in talcum powder, and the idea was... u washed them out afterwards, rolled them back up, and u could use them forever, or until they degraded... there is a famous work of fiction, can't for the life of me think of the title, however, the central character, in the 1950's, ish, as a boy, used to go with his friends diving to collect used rubbers, and roll them up and resell them...lol... Brighton Rock (?), I think is the title, yes, and Graham Greene, the author... |

Re: ladies- make ur own!
The first time I read about cups was in a Jewish group on livejournal. I think it might've been knishdelish, which specifically dealt with issues of sex and sexuality in Judaism. Someone started a topic about cups and how she really liked them because they helped her get more in touch with her cycles and get to be comfortable with her menstrual fluids instead of feeling like they're dirty. A few other people who also used cups concurred, but I dunno. Sounds icky to me.
