Knowledge.........you all have it

something i have noticed is that all of the different faiths represented here have one thing in common................knowledge. You all know so much about your various faiths. Now, bear with me on this,Mee, can cut and paste better than any preschooler can eat earwax, and Q can quote John 3:16 and Revelations and all that........ Mw can break the koran down into laymans terms that even I can understand. Flow, ahs all this knowledge of ..........well.................stuff..... (I dont knwo what to call your field) Tao sits up there inScotland spruiking scientific paradoxes.(big words)LOL.
even Islamis4u knows sooooooo much. and he is a student!!!!!. Maybe the reason for allthese different faiths is to see the amount of knowledge we can hold. Is there a religion for Dummies. My point I suppose is, that even if I wanted to, I couldnt learn some of the stuff you guys know. Its too hard. LOL. btw, dont feel sorry for me, its just an observation.
I sit back hereand try to follow some of the conversations,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ammazing.

If there is a god, and yes Im still asking, what does he do with you if you fail religion?

Sorry not up to speed on the dietary details of the world’s religions.

Does the world need another “religion”? Would it be a requirement to eat meat and drink whisky?

How would you choose? Do you have to study? Are we talking about a body of knowledge or something else?

If God didn’t, what did?

Regarding knowledge, check back to the Coming Full Circle thread...

Coming full circle

Re: Knowledge.........you all have it

Have you done the belief quiz here? I find it pretty extensive and pretty much on target.
Beliefnet: Belief-O-Matic, Religion Beliefs, What Religion Am I Quiz -- Beliefnet.com
It asks generic questions about what you feel is good to believe then rates you against hundreds of religions for compatibility.

Become aware that you don't know. Perhaps you can be happy with just that. Some of us have to go around chasing everything before we come full circle and make peace with not knowing.

Grey,

I dont think having a depth of knowledge in any field makes you who you are. Everyone brings a particular talent and yours is good humoured, warm and friendly straight talking. I think you should think not 'are you good enough for God" but "is God good enough for you"!!

Have you looked much at the native beliefs of Australia? They seem to be pretty cool.

and yes if I was to start my own religion, of course whiskey would be the staple holy drink, and vegans would be welcome but meat eaters rule. hahahahahah.
Ihavedone the religion test but my ocmputer stuffs up a bit .
Oh, tao, I dont think about no;t being good enough for god or him/hre being good enough for me...... It just seems tthat some religions require certain knowledge / study. Dont Muslims have to learn a lot of stuff (perhaps Ill put that in the islam forum) and Jewish people learn a lot of stuff.
When I went to school (taught by the nuns, bless em) we had religion as a lesson but we didnt have to quote stuff, maybe this is a reflection of my education / or lack thereof.
Tao, no I dont know much about native aussie religion. i do know that things/beliefs changed from trible to tribe . butIll research it soon.

See, you are full of good ideas.
