Interfaith Chain

I want to begin an Interfaith chain of "short" spiritual, religious, or wise expressions or quotes

If possible, try to pick one or more that is part of a religion or belief or faith that is not your own.

You can use any source.

Please use the format I use.

I am going to begin with a few that I like and hopefully others will follow.

ok here we go

Screen Name: YO-11

Faith or Belief: Interfaith Harmony / Spiritual but non religious

Source(s): Me, The Bible, Shakespear, Tu-pac

Expression(s) or Quote(s):

Pay attention be honest and have faith in GOD.---Me

What does it profit a man to gain the world and lose his soul---The Bible

What's in a name? that which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet"--Shakespear

Lets change the way we treat each other--Tupac

Guess chains are not as popular as I hoped.

Re: Interfaith Chain

Hi, YO

Give it some time--I would imagine that people are looking around for what they want to post. (I know I have some favorites, but I don't want to mess them up!) I think maybe that it also takes time for the many independent type thinkers we have here in CR to properly assess a statement like "Please use the format I use."

I've decided it is okay, this time.

Now I've just got to find what I'd like to say....

InPeace,
InLove

Re: Interfaith Chain

Good observation inlove,

What I mean by format is "structure"

in other words, just like this:

Screen Name: YO-11

Faith or Belief: Interfaith Harmony / Spiritual but non religious

Source(s): Me, The Bible, Shakespear, Tu-pac

Expression(s) or Quote(s):

Pay attention be honest and have faith in GOD.---Me

What does it profit a man to gain the world and lose his soul---The Bible

What's in a name? that which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet"--Shakespear

Lets change the way we treat each other--Tupac

Re: Interfaith Chain

Okay--I'll bite. Just keep in mind, please, that there are so many wonderful quotes out there that would make such a lovely bouquet, I have a hard time picking just a handful! I mean, here I have left out Mother Teresa, Gandhi, Hanh, King, and even Lennon/McCartney, just to name a few.

But here goes:

Screen Name: InLove

Faith or Belief: Christian, with an Interfaith Heart

Source(s): Me, The Bible, Maimonides, Samuel Walter Foss, and Chet Powers

Expression(s) or Quote(s):

"Impose no limits on Love"--Me

"No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us"--1 John 4:12

"Teach thy tongue to say I do not know and thou shalt progress."--Maimonides

"Let me live in a house by the side of the road
And be a friend to man." --Samuel Walter Foss

"C'mon people now, smile on your brother,
Ev'rybody get together,
We can love one another right now." --Chet Powers

InPeace,
InLove

Screen Name: Postmaster

Faith or Belief: Christian Orthodox, with interfaith heart too.

Source(s): Me, The bible, Galileo and Bahá'u'lláh

Expression(s) or Quote(s):

God made it so we search for him .---Me

“Love is patient; love is kind
and envies no one.
Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude;
never selfish, not quick to take offense.
There is nothing love cannot face;
there is no limit to its faith,
its hope, and endurance.
In a word, there are three things
that last forever: faith, hope, and love;
but the greatest of them all is love.”---The Bible

Science explains how the heavens were made, religion explains how to get to heaven--galileo

“It is not for him to pride himself who loveth his own country, but rather for him who loveth the whole world. The earth is but one country and mankind its citizens.”--Bahá'u'lláh
