Hugh of Balma

Hugh of Balma was a thirteenth-century Carthusian whose works had a profound impact on such diverse talents as Nicholas of Cusa, Julian of Norwich and the author of the Cloud of Unknowing.

You can download a translation of De Theologia Mystica, a treatise which deals with the Via Purgativa, Via Illuminativa and Via Unitiva and draws heavily on the works of Dionysius the pseudoAreopagite.

Enjoy
