I'd call myself a Christian believer, freethinker. I am interested in some of many different types of religions. I love religions and never get tired of learning about any of them.
I turned 40 in July, and my oldest daughter just had my first grandson for me. Yes I say for me because I am the one who keeps him most of the time. She also expecting another baby, so I see myself being mom again as my daughter at 20 still acts a lot like a child herself. As does her boyfriend whom she lives wiht , who will not marry her and give the babies his name, but sees nothing wrong with living with her and keeping her barefoot and pregnant, (as we say men here in Tennessee like to do). I also have an 18 year old who is mentally disabled and a 16 year old still living at home. I've always been a stay at home mom, and married to my husband for 17 years. |

Re: Hey Everbody,
Namaste and Welcome CyberRebel,
Congrats Gramma!! Sounds like you are in for a houseful for a while! You say your a Christian beleiver, freethinker, a failed Baptist (nother thread), New Thought may just be the way for you and yours. (I see on the link plenty around Chattanooga, Knoxville, Nashville, Memphis, don't know if any are close) I'm a Christian Unitic, but enjoy the Sufi version of Islam and the Renewal aspect of Judaism and exploring other isms with other folks. Hope you have fun 'round here! |

Re: Hey Everbody,
Where in Tennessee are you from? My late mother was from Chattanooga (I still have some relatives from her side there.)

Re: Hey Everbody,
Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine; I am from Chattanooga, myself, grew up there in an area called east Chattanooga. I live in the country now, 30 miles to the northwest in an out of the way place called Whitwell. You don't go through it, unless your a lover of backroads, cause its nowhere near an interstate. I am not a country girl at all but it has its great peaceful moments. It took a long time for it to grow on me. There are times I still get lonely for the city. I have a huge family who lives in the city and hate to come anywhere near the country, in which they call the middle of nowhere. My husband is at home though and all of his family are here in the country. My daughter's feel at home here too since they grew up around here. I'm the only one who knows the lonliness of missing the city, which isn't so bad these days.
Thanks everyone for the welcome! I have been enjoying a lot of the posts already. |
