Hi Seeta,

Welcome to CR!! Interesting about your name; I would assume by it that you would be of Indian ancestry, but that seems not to be the case. I'd be interested in hearing a little more about how you came by the name.

Peace,
P

Hi Seeta,

Welcome to CR . I like your name. The name Seeta (sometimes spelled Sita) is the name of Princess Sita, who later marries Prince Rama in the Hindu epic, Ramayana. In the story, a baby girl is found by King Janaka while plowing a field. He raises her as his own daughter and gives her the name Sita. Since her parentage is unknown, Sita is considered a daughter of Mother Earth.

There’s also a text called the Sita Upanishad of the Atharva Veda. This Upanishad identifies Sita as the Divine Mother, the very cause of the entire universe.

Hope that helps .

Regards,
A.
