Greetings from Oklahoma!

I was born and raised in the Catholic Church but have not been an active member for about 12 years or so. Lately, I have been feeling a calling to return to church life but I am not certain that the Catholic faith is where I want to return to. I'm merely here to read the forums and hopefully help decide which path to take.

Howdy, neighbor. Welcome to CR, OKAngel. (I'm in Texas, sometimes north and sometimes east and even down south on occasion. I think there are two or three other members here from Oklahoma, too--one is "in exile".

i don't mean to pry, but why weren't you active? if you don't want to answer that is ok, just curious because i have been an atheist for most of my life and just starting learning about God for about 2 years now.

why not catholic? how do you see God? what are your ideals?

Whatever path you take, I pray that you will focus on your relationship with God and with others. I'm not Catholic, but as a Christian, to me, the core of Christ's teachings is found in Matthew 22:37-40, which is something I think we can both share:

"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."

I pray God will set you an the right path for His Glory reflected in your life.
