Re: Happy christmas?

And, Jesus' (pbuh) birthday would be an important day to those Islamic believers who consider him to have been a important prophet.

Salaam....flow....

There is no problem to wish other festival from the Islamic point of view.
It increases harmony and mutual respect.
For peaceful co-existence it has a positive contribution.

? Even though it shows the prophet to be MORE than a prophet? Son of god... and some even go so far to claim he IS god lol.... That isn't a problem?

You are just wishing their festive not taking part.
Most important is , their faith is un to them, your un to you.
Hope answers the question.

Blasphemy, although a universal feature of organized religions, is always an individual choice. One may participate in declaring and living the popular dogmatic choices of the majority of believers in a sect, and then live or die with the consequences. Or one may adhere to the general precepts of a belief system, and then navigate one's own way of choices through the sect's rules and regulations.

Some Christians do believe in Jesus' inherent divinity, and this was foretold in the sacred writings of Judaic faith. However, this doesn't make all of that factually true. It is a matter of belief. Muslims believe in Jesus' importance as an important prophet of Allah, but not in His divinity. There is a distinction here, and that distinction is grounded in belief, not historical fact. That distinction needs to be drawn in discussions such as these lest they go out of control.

So while Christian beliefs in the divinity of Jesus may be blasphemy in the opinion of many Muslims, Muslims may also be considered blasphemers by Christians because they do not agree with the concept of the inherent divinity of Jesus. It is all a matter of perspective based upon belief, not a choice based upon factual history.

IMHO, there is no fault in Muslims wishing Christians a Happy Christmas.

Happy Christmas all...flow....
