Hamas win Palestinian elections

Hamas seems to have a clear majority in the Palestinian elections:

While the initial response is concern of having to deal with a "terrorist" government, I seem to recall (perhaps erroneously) similar reservations about the election of Yasser Arafat in the last elections - when he was viewed as an essentially "terrorist" leader who went on to "officially" renounce terrorism.

Is history repeating itself?
