going for refuge and the new kadampa tradition

sorry it has been so long since my last post. i have been very busy and life has taken many crazy changes, but thats expected. i have been attending a meditation class just about every monday from a woman who is a part of the new kadampa tradition. i have been reading a lot about their tradition and i really enjoy their meditations and a majority of their traditions. however, im having a problem with the intense visualizations. im not sure if anyone has studied this particular tradition, but the going for refuge ceremony is very intense (or at least to me) as far as visualizing all the buddhas, bodhisattvas, dharma protectors, ect. and each of them are sitting on a different throne, with different color lotus' and auras. its a lot to memorize and also to visualize. i really enjoy the tradition, but im afraid that i cant remember all the visualizations since i have permanent memory damage sue to seizures. does anyone have any suggestions, maybe a neumonic device to remember them all?

thanks a million
be well in peace
jon

Relate them to a hobby or such....

I have no idea about the aura colour scales or whatever, but say like in that film... where a guy teaches another science or something by using wrestling (the students hobby) as the method to remember all the information... Just a suggestion... *shrugs*

Hi 333,

Wouldn't a mnemonic be an additional mental phenomenon between "you" and the visualisation?

Anyway, any info here of any use?
