Re: Going Away for the Summer
No no no. A hippie trail is a long streak of mud that soaked into a pair of jeans at the original Woodstock and never came out...
Some trails are hippie ones,
Others are blue collar.
It's the way you ride the trail that counts.
Here's a hippie one for you.
Hippie trails to you,
Until we meet again.
Hippie trails to you,
Keep smilin' (wink) until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just bring a... sing a song and make sunny the weather. *Gonnnng!*
Hippie trails to you.
Til we meet again.

Re: Going Away for the Summer
*Gonnnng!*? I must have missed this piece of work, unless, of course, you wrote it, in which case I am witness to genius and an undying fan.
Hope you get to "blog" or something every now and then. But not too often, because then you might as well stay home.
Okay, bye now, unless I talk with you before you go.
InPeace,
InLove

Re: Going Away for the Summer
Yes, and, ummm..."Hoppy Trails" as well from the Easter Bunny, who did not want to relay the message personally for fear of offending. (I told him it was corny, but he insisted...)
If I am not too late, lunamoth, I hope you have a nice respite as well!
I will miss both of you.
Bon Voyage--
InPeace,
InLove

Re: Going Away for the Summer
But I need to remind myself to get this finished!! I had the basics set up, but then became distracted with some work issues.
Note to self - get this project finished properly over the next couple of days...

I think he should get stoned for that--
(Sorry--it was just too irresistible)
I will try to behave in the future--no promises.

Re: Going Away for the Summer
rrrrr - that's what I get for going away for a while - people disappear before I get a chance to say have a great trip.
Well, in case any of you are able to see this while you are gone - dauer, lunamoth, Kaldayen, I hope each of you is having a rewarding and safe trip, and I can't wait to hear about it when you get back.

Re: Going Away for the Summer
Shalom y'all from Elat Chayyim, now at www.jewishretreatcenter.org (oh the demand for the address was incredible! Not really.)
For those who knew my potential plans, I'm not staying as part of the fellowship at EC for the year. I'm going to the transdenom Jewish college in my area. But I probably will be coming back here for some holidays and other events and I may do the fellowship at a later time. I won't be responding to this post before August 23rd or quite possibly 24th or 25th, the 23rd being when when I head home. But I wanted to give this site a quick glimpse and further, I felt some desire to say something about my experiences, given that I didn't have the outlet a blog would have supplied, no hard feelings Brian, only soft ones, much like pudding, and not that lumpy kind you guys eat in England but the mushy, melty, formless goo we shovel into our mouths on this side of the pond.
I don't think I've finished digesting yet, maybe after Simchas Torah, so there's only so much I can say. Perhaps it would be best to string a number of words and phrases together, in insignificant succession: love, heart, integral, holistic, holon, Ken Wilber, zafu, meditation, inner, connection, healing, Torah, mamish, light, breath, niggun, joy, mamish joy, exhale, inhale, mindfulness, , hallelu Yah, simcha, we are opening up in sweet surrender to the luminous lovelight of the one, neo-hasidut, Rav Kook, the Izbitzer, community, my Torah, creativity, unfolding, emunah, deep ecumenism, syncretism, psychohalachah, song, Baruch atah Yah, Gaia, Ein Od Milvado Hashem Hu HaElohim, Mother carry me, Rachamim, renewal, ecstacy, devekut, caring, deep listening, tikkun hanefesh, tikkun olam, responsibility, growth.
Ahhhhhh. Better. Reb Nachman of Bratslav says that a sigh in itself is a deep and powerful prayer. Sometimes I let something out and I feel I have to offer one of those prayers, or a few of them. So that "ahhhhh" is really just me attempting to put it into type. I think I'm going to stop there. A new retreat each week, a new teacher, it's a lot. And the teachings, they're all a jumble right now. What I'm feeling most is the effects of living in a spiritual community; very open, more keyed into relating than before. I had a very powerful interaction with someone very close to me that hasn't ended, that couldn't have happened had something not first changed inside me. Baruch Hashem there is a place like this, and many places like this for all the different communities of the world.
Shalom uvracha
peace and blessings,
Dauer

Re: Going Away for the Summer
Brian, yes, I got your message, I think. If it's the one about switching over I got it. And I'm back so you all might see me lurking and posting occasionally in other threads. Yay interfaith dialogue!
