Re: Free discussion of historical facts and their implications

Yeah, I would have liked to read his prophecy as well. It would have been interesting. But he could've cut the fiddle farting around and at least spit out a rough draft. The thread title was what he really wanted to discuss it seems, as the conversation between him and BB shows, so it makes me wonder why he would lead with such a grand, self-aggrandizing OP. Oh well, it's like watching people go by in an airport concourse. I always wonder what their real lives are like.

How about that Brian....? A special section for one-man/guru religions. A place for could-be and want-to-be gurus and prophets. The forum, would, of course, have rules to stop the gurus and prophets from flaming each other. It might even be a new phenomenon on CR.

These would-be gurus and prophets could then figure out whether or not they really are, or want to be, gurus and prophets. It would be a simple question of -- if you were a prophet, apostle or guru, what would you do? Of course there'd be prophets of Abrahamic faiths, New Age prophets, mystical prophets, etc. Different kinds of prophets and gurus with a message and story to tell.

A Prophethood/Apostlehood/Guruhood Forum?

I had wanted to ask what Paganprophet's life had been like prior to him being a prophet, realising he was a prophet and/or discovering his appointed mission. Has he been booted now or is he simply being "moderated"? I didn't at all find his posts offensive or threatening. I just thought he was a minority and wanted to hear his story.

What's his life story, pre-prophet? How did he come to be what he is today?

What do we say about those who start new religions or challenge traditions?

If any of us are going to start our own religion, what would it be? A lot of us have been disillusioned, to some extent, with existing religions.

Should existing religions be eliminated, or have they simply been misunderstood?

I think paganprophet's intention was to discuss "facts." But what we're interested in here is beliefs. For example, why does paganprophet believe he/she is a prophet? He/she may have had visions, but just because you have a dream or vision doesn't mean you just go and do what it says. There has to be a reason. A motivation, a rationale, justification.

A prophet must always have a reason -- a motivation, a rationale, justification. It can't be "I saw God in a dream." There doesn't need to be a reason behind the reason to back it up, especially if it's a feeling, an emotion -- especially a gut feeling. That to me is enough.

No, the guy has signed up to CR with multiple aliases, with the sole aim of promoting himself over everyone else.

This isn't the case of someone joining to *dicuss* their beliefs - it's a case of someone wanting to use CR as their own promotional vehicle. There's nothing fair or honest about it.

The general modus of these self-proclaimed modern-day "prophets" is to prolifically denigrate everyone else while raising themselves up as the only ones who know anything. We've had a couple of people do this in the past and it will not be tolerated here.

But, if you're desperate to read what he has to say, his link is there earlier in the thread for you to read - when he gets his website up.

You're not being censored at all - but CR is a moderated community. That means some things are acceptable, and some things aren't, though I try to make the rules as liberal, fair, and tolerant as possible.

Anyway, I think this thread has run its course and so has paganprophet. If anyone has any questions, feel free to raise them on the feedback board.
