Wreckurd?
Oh...hehe, I get it. Man, I'm unhep.
I'm a mix tape kind of guy. I've never heard a Nirvana song that I wanted to skip through, though. The Cure's Disintegration of course was divinely guided into being.

Re: Favourite Wreckurd?
Namaste all,
hmm... a favortie... that's harder than the movies question for me! LOL..
if i were forced to choose one album to listen to, from a post 1900 artist, i think that it would have to be Pink Floyds' The Wall.
as for a favorite modern artist... hands down... Rush.
i wasn't a big Counting Crows fan when i heard their radio songs, however, after i married, my spouse had the CD and i found that i really enjoyed it.

I'm suddenly looking more hep.
Also, I wanted to add that Tom Waits Bone Machine is a great album. One of few I listen to all the way through.

Re: Favourite Wreckurd?
Depends on the day. Some days it is "The Joshua Tree" (U2). Other times it is "Abbey Road" (Beatles). Every once in awhile it is "Wild Frontier" (Gary Moore). And sometimes it is "Greatest Hits" (Journey). Anyway, those are the albums/CDs.
If you're talking about individual songs, I'd have to go "Desperado" (Eagles), "Dock of the Bay" (Otis Redding), "Working Class Hero" (John Lennon), "Born to Run" (Bruce Springsteen)...and I'm probably forgetting plenty of others. There isn't just one or two or ten, really.

Re: Favourite Wreckurd?
Just bought Joshua Tree this week - never listened to U2 properly before and quite enjoying it.
Once album only? Impossible.

Re: Favourite Wreckurd?
Most albums by Genesis and Peter Gabriel. Have not been able to get into his latest, though.
When I lived for a while in New Jersey I lived in the slums of a cute little town called Rumson. Bon Jovi lived at the top of the hill in my neighborhood (until he moved to a palace across the river) and I drove by Bruce Springstein's house every day on my way to work. Thought that was kind of neat. Like Bruce's music too. (and Vaj, i've had a couple of spiritual moments with Rush 2112 myself).

Makes me think I should dust off the CD and listen to it again--it's been a while. I was in high school when it came out and once had a very very long night camping at the lake with a friend while we listened to 2112 about a hundred times. At one point we were stopping the tape after every line so we could talk about it and take it in... Been a long time...

yes.. you definitely should...
as i've grown and become more worldly aware.. the message of that album has really grown with me. for those that aren't familiar, here's a snippet from the first part of the piece:
We've taken care of everything
The words you hear, the songs you sing
The pictures that give pleasure to your eyes
It's one for all and all for one
We work together, common sons
Never need to wonder how or why
We are the Priests of the Temples of Syrinx
Our great computers fill the hallowed halls
We are the Priests, of the Temples of Syrinx
All the gifts of life are held within our walls
Look around at this world we've made
Equality our stock in trade
Come and join the Brotherhood of Man
Oh, what a nice, contented world
Let the banners be unfurled
Hold the Red Star proudly high in hand

Re: Favourite Wreckurd?
I like music from all genres and eras but, if I were to name just one band, I'd have to give it up to The Grateful Dead, now known as, simply, The Dead.
I own and cherish a few various tracks from their studio recordings but my favourite cuts ..are the bootlegs from their live shows.
Current favourites:
3rd show, Alpine Valley Music Theatre, East Troy WI, 1989
80-6-20, Anchorage, AK &
The Boston Tea Party, 1969
Peace.
