Re: Favorite Song Lyrics
Losing My Religion REM Life is bigger Its bigger than you And you are not me The lengths that I will go to The distance in your eyes Oh no Ive said too much I set it up Thats me in the corner Thats me in the spotlight Losing my religion Trying to keep up with you And I dont know if I can do it Oh no Ive said too much I havent said enough I thought that I heard you laughing I thought that I heard you sing I think I thought I saw you try Every whisper Of every waking hour im Choosing my confessions Trying to keep an eye on you Like a hurt lost and blinded fool Oh no Ive said too much I set it up Consider this The hint of the century Consider this The slip that brought me To my knees failed What if all these fantasies Come flailing around Now Ive said too much I thought that I heard you laughing I thought that I heard you sing I think I thought I saw you try But that was just a dream That was just a dream |

Re: Favorite Song Lyrics
There's a place for us-- Somewhere a place for us... Peace and quiet and open air Wait for us Somewhere. There's a time for us-- Some day a time for us... Time together with time spare, Time to learn, time to care, Some day... Somewhere. We'll find a new way of living, We'll find a way of forgiving Somewhere... There's a place for us, A time and place for us. Hold my hand and we're halfway there. Hold my hand and I'll take you there Somehow, Some day, Somewhere.... (I like the version by Celtic Woman) |

Creed - Arms Wide Open....... (I love playing this on my guitar...)
Well I just heard The news today It seems my life Is gonna change I close my eyes Begin to pray Then tears of joy Stream down my face..... With arms wide open Under the sunlight Welcome to this place I'll show you everything With arms wide open With arms wide open Well I don't know If I'm ready To be the man I have to be I take a breath I take her by my side We stand in awe We've created life With arms wide open Under the sunlight Welcome to this place I'll show you everything With arms wide open Now everything has changed I'll show you love I'll show you everything With arms wide open With arms wide open I'll show you everything Ah yeah With arms wide open Wide open *crazy guitar solo* If I had just one wish Only one demand I hope he's not like me I hope he understands That he can take his life And hold it by the hand And he can greet the world With arms wide open With arms wide open Under the sunlight Welcome to this place I'll show you everything With arms wide open Now everything has changed I'll show you love I'll show you everything With arms wide open! With arms wide open I'll show you everything Ah yeah With arms wide open Wide open.... |

Deliver Me
Deliver me, out of my sadness. Deliver me, from all of the madness. Deliver me, courage to guide me. Deliver me, strength from inside me. All of my life I've been in hiding. Wishing there was someone just like you. Now that you're here, now that I've found you, I know that you're the one to pull me through. Deliver me, loving and caring. Deliver me, giving and sharing. Deliver me, the cross that I'm bearing. All of my life I was in hiding. Wishing there was someone just like you. Now that you're here, now that I've found you, I know that you're the one to pull me through. Deliver me, Deliver me, Oh deliver me. All of my life I was in hiding. Wishing there was someone just like you. Now that you're here, now that I've found you, I know that you're the one to pull me through. Deliver me, Oh deliver me. Won't you deliver me. |

'Then I saw a new heavenand a new earththe first heaven and the first earthhave passed away'We are fallenlike the mourning sunwe are waking upyeah, we are fallenlike the mourning sunwe didn't fall from heavenwe didn't fall for you'Fields of the Nephilim', Mourning Sun.(they tend to produce 'aural soundscapes' rather than traditional verse-chorus songs nowadays {kinda Gothic Ambiance...} so you need to hear the music that goes with the words...)

"I Just Called To Say I Love You"
No New Year's Day to celebrate No chocolate covered candy hearts to give away No first of spring No song to sing In fact here's just another ordinary day No April rain No flowers bloom No wedding Saturday within the month of June But what it is, is something true Made up of these three words that I must say to you I just called to say I love you I just called to say how much I care I just called to say I love you And I mean it from the bottom of my heart No summer's high No warm July No harvest moon to light one tender August night No autumn breeze No falling leaves Not even time for birds to fly to southern skies No Libra sun No Halloween No giving thanks to all the Christmas joy you bring But what it is, though old so new To fill your heart like no three words could ever do I just called to say I love you I just called to say how much I care, I do I just called to say I love you And I mean it from the bottom of my heart I just called to say I love you I just called to say how much I care, I do I just called to say I love you And I mean it from the bottom of my heart, of my heart, of my heart I just called to say I love you I just called to say how much I care, I do I just called to say I love you And I mean it from the bottom of my heart, of my heart, baby of my heart ---------- Also Norman Greenbaum - Spirit in the Sky. (lol this song makes me smile.) |

Re: Favorite Song Lyrics
(I like "SITS", too, Angel. I think if the music had not come into or "out to" play on that one, it might not have been played so much. One can only wonder about those one-hit wonders.
) Apologies to all if this is already here somewhere...just gotta do it! 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy) Slow down, you move too fast. You got to make the morning last. Just kicking down the cobble stones. Looking for fun and feelin' groovy. Ba da, Ba da, Ba da, Ba da...Feelin' Groovy. Hello lamp-post, What cha knowin'? I've come to watch your flowers growin'. Ain't cha got no rhymes for me? Doot-in' doo-doo, Feelin' groovy. I've got no deeds to do, No promises to keep. I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep. Let the morning time drop all its petals on me. Life, I love you, All is groovy. Simon/Garfunkel ? I know they performed it. Not sure about authorship. |

Mind Games by: John Lennon
We're playing those mind games together, Pushing barriers, planting seeds, Playing the mind guerilla, Chanting the Mantra peace on earth, We all been playing mind games forever, Some kinda druid dudes lifting the veil. Doing the mind guerilla, Some call it the search for the grail, Love is the answer and you know that for sure, Love is flower you got to let it, you got to let it grow, So keep on playing those mind games together, Faith in the future outta the now, You just can't beat on those mind guerillas, Absolute elsewhere in the stones of your mind, Yeah we're playing those mind games forever, Projecting our images in space and in time, Yes is the answer and you know that for sure, Yes is the surrender you got to let it, you got to let it go, So keep on playing those mind games together, Doing the ritual dance inn the sun, Millions of mind guerrillas, Putting their soul power to the karmic wheel, Keep on playing those mind games forever, Raising the spirit of peace and love, not war |

Bud’s Sea-Mint Boat
He lived his life a civil service man Designing toilets for the space program He believed if we could go to the moon There’s nothing on earth a man can’t do So he ordered a ton of sand and clay In his front yard he built a frame Most folks said it’ll never float Still they came to see Bud’s cement boat A dream is anything that you want it to be For some it’s fame and fortune but for others concrete Sometimes you just gotta follow your heart No matter where it leads He gave up fishing and most of his friends Worked all night and every weekend But he didn’t mind the sacrifice Cause he’d build a boat that’s one of a kind Well the neighbors thought it was a real eyesore They’d say hey Bud what are ya building that for And knowing they would never understand He’d just smile and say because I can Well he got laid off in seventy-four And they don’t go to the moon anymore But down around the Alabama coast She still floats Bud’s Sea-Mint boat Kate Campbell / Ira Campbell / Johnny Pierce © 1996 Large River Music (BMI) Cedarsong Publishing (BMI) |

I see trees of green........ red roses too I see em bloom..... for me and for you And I think to myself.... what a wonderful world. I see skies of blue..... clouds of white Bright blessed days....dark sacred nights And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world. I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow Theyll learn much more.....than Ill never know And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty in the sky Are there on the faces.....of people going by I see friends shaking hands.....sayin how do you do Theyre really sayin.....(I ....love....you). I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow (you know their gonna learn A whole lot more than Ill never know) And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world Yes I think to myself .......what a wonderful world. |

Re: Favorite Song Lyrics
Ever hear The Ramones do that Louis Armstrong classic? Or maybe it's just Joey Ramone, minus the others. Whatever, it's flippin' awesome, will make you smile, smile, smile.
Here's one from a band I've recently discovered. Psi Com is a band that Jane's Addiction/Porno For Pyros/The Satellite Party frontman (and party DJ), Perry Farrell cut some of his teeth on. Their 1985 record features mathematical, edgy song structures, with surprisingly mid-range/low vocals by Farrell. Ho Ka Hey* The medicine wheel is home and pasture Goes by ecological disaster Could have been lovers but the facts remain There's a right wing palace in a sick terrain One end burns, one end freezes The unlearned hold onto neither The bows expand and the bows regress When the answer comes before the lesson Oh, what a day, what a day it is Yeah, it's a fine day... a fine day For a valedictory Something simple, yeah All the brave men say... Ho Ka Hey! Ho Ka Hey! Ho Ka Hey! Ho Ka Hey! Serpent's tail is long and sweet She is, I am what we eat The path we walk is not so straight And there is no end to the figure 8 What a day, what a day it is Yeah, it's a fine day... a fine day Something simple, yeah All the brave men say... Ho Ka Hey! Ho Ka Hey! Ho Ka Hey! Ho Ka Hey! Ho Ka Hey! Ho Ka Hey! Ho Ka Hey! Ho Ka Hey! (and on like that) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ from what I can gather, Ho Ka Hey is the war cry of the Lakota (Sioux), meaning "Let's Go--Now!" --P |

Re: Favorite Song Lyrics
It's just Joey Ramone. I looked it up on you tube, lol. Great version, too. Smile, smile, smile!!
![]() I think I still like Lous Armstrongs version better, but that could be because I think he's awsome, haha. Here's some more by him: "Hello Brother" A man wants to work...for his pay A man wants a place...in the sun A man wants a gal proud to say That shell become his lovin wife He wants a chance to give his kids a better life Well hello ah.... hello brother You can travel all around the world and back You can fly or sail or ride a railroad track But no matter where you go youre gonna find That people have the same things on their minds A man wants to work...for his pay A man wants a place...in the sun A man wants a gal...proud to say That shell become...his lovin wife He wants a chance to give his kids a better life Well hello brother, hello (instrumental break) He wants a chance to give his kids a better life, yes Well hello, hello, brother hello I said hello, hello, brother hello |

Re: Favorite Song Lyrics
Song of the Dispossessed
lyrics by Brendan Perry The river is deep and the road is long, Daylight comes and I want to go home. Awoke this morning To find my peoples tongues were tied And in my dreams They were given books to poison their minds. The river is deep and the mountain high, How long before the other side. We are their mortar, Their building bricks and their clay. Their gold teeth mirror Both our joys and our pain. The river is deep and the ocean wide, Who will teach us how to read the signs. The earth is our mother She taught us to embrace the light, Now the lord is master She suffers an eternal night. You blocked up my ears, You plucked out my eyes, You cut out my tongue, You fed me with lies, Oh lord. |

Re: Favorite Song Lyrics
Decent lyrics and one of my favorite songs.. . ..
High Head Blues by: The Black Crowes Sometimes I have a ghetto in my mind Other times sunshine high head fine In between I get cold, old mean Intertwined with country pride open and kind This draws a line Sorry to coin a phrase On either side is wisdom and rage So keeping track of time Racing with my age Sleeping with the snakes Forget that you showed up late It ain't worth it baby Chorus: A charmed life it is At least they tell you so I got a good idea It ain't like they say is so And if it is then let me go Let me go Any day there might be hell to pay But in other ways It makes it seem ok I'll tell you what I mean It's not a plot nor a scheme It's just peace in my mind Again can I use the word kind I ain't sorry about it baby |
