Re: Eat less meat, save the planet?

The case is much better for dropping beef in major levels within the next decade or so. But not so much for the dropping of meat in general. Extending the reports (which tend to have enough biased info in them already) to cover all meats tends to kill the subject completely for many people.

As far as diets, a case can be made for the pros and cons of any natural diet. Vegan, Vegetarian, etc. Following the basic rules of zoology for the pros/cons of herbivore, omnivore, and even carnivore. The thing that is a problem with a "carnivore" diet is that the standard american diet exceeds the rules of a carnivore diet by a factor of 3 (sometimes as much as a factor of 10!).
