thank you for the post.
it is only for a linguist convention that we list something as the cause of something else, in Buddhism. our teaching, in this regard, is called Interdependent Co-Arising which, simplistically, means "this is because that is and that is because this is."
therefore, in the 12-Linked Chain of Causation, each one of the phenomea is both the product of and the source of all the other links.
