Disappearing act

they chanted God
God
God
until God
vanished
they chanted Dharma
Dharma
Dharma
until Dharma
vanished
but neither God nor Dharma
vanished
into nowhere but into what
was there
and many words, objects & beings
were there
mountains & seas
rivers & woods & plains
and tiny animals
with long names
and thick grasses
flowering shrubs & trees
and villages & cities
rose like smoke
and people rode in carts
pulled by white bullocks
and spoke into magic devices
like cell phones
and spoke with the greatest
tact
careful not to bear too
heavily
on their carts, or on their white
bullocks
since every word, object & being
was so precious & sweet
so fragile & liable to
vanish
and must not
vanish, since
their task was not to
vanish, since
vanishment
had already
happened, since
vanishment
could only happen
once, since
vanishment
was not their place, since noble
vanishment
upheld every precious
word, object & being
over the waters
above
under the waters
below

Re: Disappearing act

At the end of the domain, a rainbow
seperating out,
returning full circle,
now only light,
illuminating land, new in clear vision,
balance, as the past retreats.
It is the end.
Now we born of love begin,
and celebrate life.

Re: Disappearing act

Not sure if this is a viable correlation, but the three Jewels of Buddhism:

Buddha, Dharma (the Teachings) and Sangha (the Community)

could correspond to:

Christ, Scripture and Tradition

Just a thought ...
