i do have Guernsey cream , and it is a buttermilk colour , which fades to white in the sun .

But this white one is really bright white and flowers from may right through to nov. i have had it for about 5 years and it never lets me down so far.

The Guernsey cream one is right now getting lots of buds on it so hopefully it will give me a good show this year . and i will post a pic of it when it is in its glory later on .

when i first put it into the ground a few years ago i thought i had killed it , because it put lots of growth on it then wilted and withered away.

but i had learned not to dig it up but to leave the roots in the ground and it will hopefully come back with new growth from the ground .

and about 18 months later it did , and now it is doing really well because last year it flowered for me and now i have loads of flower buds

Without a doubt, flowers are a gift to our senses and an important ingredient in our enjoyment of life.

Truly they give us additional reasons to thank our loving Creator.

Clematis are great - I think my favourite is 'Etoile Rose'. I also love Clematis tangutica. My favourites are the types which have fairly small elegant flowers and are followed by the beautiful fluffy 'old man's beard' seedheads which are so good in autumn flower arrangements.

Re: clematis addict

Both hobby and work

I have never tried to propagate Clematis I'm afraid but I would try cuttings as they will produce an identical plant. I shouldn't think a greenhouse would be necessary - a cool windowsill (one not in direct sun or over a radiator, north facing ideally) would probably be best. Good luck
