Clash of Apocalyptic Views--Can Anything Be Done?
Shalom. salaam, peace to all here--
The links below present the views of non-dispensationalist Christian Timothy Weber and progressive Jewish rabbi Michael Lerner regarding the American (U.S.) relationship with Israel, including a discussion of various Palestinian and Muslim views. These two men expound on what they see as the counterproductive and harmful right-wing movement embraced by an organization called CUFI, led by Pastor John Hagee. In my opinion, this is very much worth a good, long look for anyone trying to sort all this stuff out. The video has four sections. When the first segment is finished, go to the top of the window and click on the next tab. The first is a short intro. The second is a look at CUFI and that organization's views. (Please do not stop there--it is important to see the next part, which is the discussion between Bill Moyers, Lerner and Weber). (The fourth part does not address the subject of this thread. It is a look at the Amish community a year after the tragic shootings in Pennsylyvania. Not essential to the subject of the thread, but worth a look.) Bill Moyers Journal . Watch & Listen | PBS For those who would rather read or cannot access the video, the transcript can be read from the following link. Transcripts can be a little confusing to read sometimes, though, so it is wise to keep that in mind. One might need to re-read certain statements to understand the meaning. Bill Moyers Journal .
