Blog advise please!

I know some of you sexy creatures have got blogs on t'internet and I thought I'd give it a whizz, especially when I saw the words "free" and "easy" on the google site.

Before I plunge in and do something deeply wrong/naff/regrettable would any of you dudes care to cast any pearls of wisdom before this untechnologically minded swine please? My gratitude would be immeasurable.

mmm...I know a bit about websites, but don't do not really know the way of the Blog.

I don't think it's a bad Idea if you like writing ....and watch spellcheck. One rule from websites is to keep it simple, break the text up so it is readable. Hold back on moving bits (flashing icons etc). Keep away from strong contrasting colours. Most blogsites have templates that make it easy - you just pick a design you like and pop your blurb in.

Well, youre going to need a decent flux capacitor and a few zpm drives for a decent blog, along with a gigabyte worth of randomly-created binary, some html knowledge, and a remote device.

My suggestions:

Maintain a focus. If someone decides to look at your blog because of your article about your pet cat they may not be just as interested in your coin collection and your knowledge of quantum physics.

Post regularly.

Write well.

If your interest is in blogging don't go with a provider that includes lots of unrelated bells and whistles. You might try wordpress or blogger.

Blogs are so…. Petty. I hate um! Some small insignificant person writing about how their day was, and why joey was acting like clown shoes and how their cat brought home some field mouse and… who cares? I am going to make a freaking blog to say how I cannot stand blogs and the people that write them.

Well I'm going to put in my blog that I cannot stand you so

Not that it's any of your goddam business 17th you nosey parker, but I'm thinking of creating it as a cheap way of making a web page for someone; not to create the sort of "standard" blog that you mean. Not that it's any or your business like I said!

PS Last night our cat hid in the windowsill behind the bedroom curtains and when we'd gone to bed he jumped out and frightened us half to death cos we thought he'd gone out. Oh it was so funny....

Dear Diary,

Some excellent pieces of literature start with those words. How are you? I am well, thank you, o kind diary. Sometimes I believe you may be my only friend. Currently I am listening to "Under the Bridge" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Do you like Dr Pepper? I do, but try to avoid soda.

Anyhow, yesterday I sat around the house and drew pictures of my cat. Then I watched Vanilla Sky. I liked that movie, it was good.

Do you think I am petty? Perhaps I should take the recyclables and look for a job.

Well, nothing much is happening right now. The Chili Peppers have given way to the Knack's "My Sharona." I know this mix! I can't wait until that John Coltrane tune kicks in. As a matter of fact, I am going to skip forward now so that I can hear it. I'm just not feelin' the Knack at the moment. Hey, a thought just occured to me, that skipping forward through the tracks on a CD is like time travel in a way. Wow. Heavy.
