has anyone seen this? it blew my mind. i got it from an artical from the CR website of ads by google.
it says this about it:
The official title of the pope is "Vicarius Filii Dei", which translated is, "Representative of the Son of God". To confirm, the Catholic newspaper Our Sunday Visitor of April 18, 1915 wrote: "The engraved letter on the pope's Mitre is as follows: 'Vicarius Filii Dei '". Since in Latin certain letters have numerical values, we only need to add them up to come to 666.
any thoughts?

The number in Revelations is mistranslated, it should be 616 rather than 666.

Where do you detect, hostility?

Kiwi states there is a mistranslation...I'd like to see more on that.

Dondi to me basically states these number games and codes abound everywhere...

Although since Catholics are Christians, Catholics are the group that made a valiant effort 1700 years ago to unify, codify and identify Christians by gathering the churches and learned of the day and cannonizing what we today use as the bible....couldn't it actually be constued to be hostile for one to identify the leader of the largest Christian organization in the world as the devil?

Could it be that mirror thing?? What you see in others is an indication of traits within yourself which you dislike? I hate that mirror....

look, people, all i am saying is that i read the article on ads by google about revelation 17, identity of the next pope. just read it if you want. just don't say that my name will be 666, or that i am like the pope carrying around a staff of the the dead Christ everywhere i go because i am not down with that, or that 666 is actually 616. every translation i own has 666 in revelation 13. also, enought with this mirror thing. there is no such thing.

or perhaps we cant figure it out yet, because it hasnt unfolded yet. if you were to tell people back in the 1800's that in the future they would buy things instantly across the other side of the world and to do it you would use 16 numbers. it means nothing to them, but because credit cards came about that riddle ended up making sense.

I think that's how G-d is. A person might think it's a ridiculous riddle, but in the end, it all makes sense.

The Bible book of Daniel sheds much light on the meaning of symbolic beasts.

A mere number trick.... Doesn't impress me personally... As someone else said, I can make 666 connect to anything, I used to like to make "scary connections" to the number 17.... All world disasters and such I would find a way that they had some connection to 17....

It is as simple and as stupid as the "books tell the future" crap... Where you can take any book manily people use the bible... and can show you on pages like the assassination of kenedey and such.... Well with so many words you could make it say anything... I could make the bible say I am god..... So yeah... Mere tricks.

I would have expected more than that....

I meant no offense. It was like wil said, too many people are playing the numbers game with this 666 thing and coming out with all kinds of interpretations of who it could be. Many believe that it could possibly be the Pope because of the status he has in influencing the Catholic church (and some protestants, I might add). I, for one, am doubtful it is the Pope. My feeling is that the Anti-Christ would have a much broader influence that the Pope has. He would have to appeal to the Muslims, Buddhists, Jews, and Hindus as well as all the other derivative religions.

The new avatar? It is in fact...Dondi. When I was young lad, my uncle used to call me "lil ole Dondi". He asked me if I ever heard of comic strip "Dondi". I had no idea. Apparently it was about a little Italian orphan boy who followed the American troups around during during WWII.
